Event Recap: Maryland State Vex Robotics Championship

Summary of the Maryland State Vex Spin Up Championship, March 4, 2023 by Ira Geller

Last Saturday, four of our robotics teams, 1893A, 1893B, 1893C, and 1893X, competed at the Maryland State Vex Spin Up Championship. Our teams were doing great after through the qualification round, with 1893C being 5-1, and 1893B being 4-2. This put 1893C as the 12th ranked team, and 1893B as the 21st-ranked team.

Once alliances were picked, 1893C was the captain of the 9th seed alliance, and 1893B was on the 14th seed alliance. Although 1893B unfortunately lost in the round of 16, 1893C had a massive win, propelling themselves to the quarterfinals. 1893C would go on the lose in the quarterfinals, but they put up one of the strongest fights against a team that had shut out all of their previous opponents.
