A main point of concern is those in control of our class government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students have expressed concerns about the class leaders\u2019 time management and communication between the student government and body. The officers believe that they were shortchanged because of things like delays in voting, the switching of class advisors, and not having stability with deadlines. \u201cWe were just working on getting a foundation,\u201d stated former Class President Christopher Davis. Throughout the terms the different officers praise their cabinet, from former Secretary Ivana Harried refers to them as a unit who focused on what was best for the class and again links their hiccups to the lack of stability with the people in charge of them. Many students believe the officers aren\u2019t there for seniors, but the truth is officers get little support, it doesn&#8217;t start with us and only ends with us because we spoke up about problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Throughout the years, the class of 2026 had many bumps in the road, from going into freshman year with a lack of drive in terms of roles, to late elections, no class trips, the cancelling of junior day and rushed rescheduling. It&#8217;s bigger than just class government, but who has oversight of our program? With 2026 concluding our last year in high school, students are hoping to see change in the engagement of class officers. With past officers&#8217; support and best wishes for the new term of government, some want to give advice to them. Highlighting things such as communication and having resilience, a direct quote being, \u201cCommunicate with the class whether you\u2019re president, advisor, or friend of one, don\u2019t let us be blind.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though there is lots of criticism towards the officers, many of them are able to reflect and acknowledge that at the end of the day, they\u2019re a team that did what they could.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Looking forward to the future with the new class President Shaneerah Wallace, she has many things she&#8217;s taken in throughout her 4 years working in our class government. She promises to listen to every voice and put the class first. She hopes to do this not only just with her inner circles, but the students that sometimes don\u2019t get to speak up, by creating google forms accessible to everyone through the Class of 2026\u2019 Canvas. She touches on how everyone has done the best with what they had and also hopes that she can bring a vibrant senior year. Some things she&#8217;s done are plan the Senior Sunrise, run the social media, plan outreach for collecting ideas and input from students, and will do so much more with the closing of our high school careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good luck to the new officers for the last term of our high school years.
