Coming off of a triple crown in 2021-2022 (winning the cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track city championships) and a state championships berth in the 2022 cross country season, Poly enters the indoor track season with a great deal of confidence. That said, the Engineers will have stiff competition in the likes of Digital Harbor, Mervo, and Dunbar. In order to repeat as city champions, the engineers will have to fill the shoes left by 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter state champion Talil Atkins. Despite the loss of Atkins, head coach James Davis believes that his squad is capable of more than just winning the city title. \u201cI believe that we have a state-championship caliber squad. It\u2019s just up to [them] to put in the work\u201d, notes Davis.
