The Baltimore Student Union aims to address the issues facing students in Baltimore City through collective organization and action. Achievements
- Helped our endorsed canidate, Ashley Esposito to a first place victory in Baltimore’s first-ever public School Board election
- Organized against inequitable school closures, stopping the closure of Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys
- Pushed back against use of AI-based metal detectors in schools, helping spearhead one of the most robust student engagement campaigns in the history of BCPS
- Fought a tyrranical youth curfew policy that criminilizes Black and Brown kids without portecting students from guns
- Helped strengthen student government in Baltimore by helping pass Senate Bill 31, the most expanisve municipal reform in half a decade
- Advocated for better school lunches
- Helped provide hundreds of meals and masks to city residents through our mutual aid program with other coalition partners
