Turn Trash into Fashion with the BPI Recycling Club!

Meet the club responsible for recycling at Poly.

The Poly Recycling Club aims to promote a culture of sustainability and creativity, and to revive lost recycling procedures school-wide.

The Recycling Club is a Poly Green Team organization led by Ruby-Rose Kumodzi, a senior here at Poly and managed by Ms. Mathew, Ms. Schmidt, and Ms. Avery. The club reinstated school-wide recycling bins and we currently collect said recycling every B day during Parrot time. Students who participate receive service learning hours and help keep our school green!

Members meet in Ms. Schmidt’s room (rm. 221), Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, participants meet in Ms. Avery’s room (rm. 130).

The club’s action project will be the Recycling “Trashion” Show. Club members collaborate to design and create a fashion line, and model their creations In April during the Green Team’s Earth month celebration. We meet every Friday after school in the aquaponics lab (rm. 164), and our club is beginner friendly, so don’t be shy!
